biggrin.gif so far we have managed to strip the donor mini and i mean stripped (even the vultures flew away) the sub frames are in good order and i shall have them shot blasted and repaint them, i took the head off due to deans advice that as it had sat around it would be wise to reseat the valves, so that job done and a nice new payen head gasket installed, just going through the process of sorting through the spares that came with the donor /cleaning/painting the bits to be reinstalled, hope to start reassembling the van next week, [img=http://img691.imageshack.us/img691/2601/mini004g.th.jpg]

biggrin.gif thought i would add some pics of van ,i have started to clean up and repaint the sub frames and will be fitting the set of hi-lo's that came with the donor mini, i have cleaned and refreshed the servo/cylinder/share valve and will make up a set of copper pipes. smile.gif

biggrin.gif we went to minispares in potters bar today and spent £600, wot a lot of goodies!!! the service we received was excellent , as you can see "alf" our hairy helper inspects our haul!.
we have got the van in the garage now that all the donor stuff has been cleared and i have started to strip out the old engine and subframes.so hope to start putting some stuff back in soon.user posted image

biggrin.gif stripped down and cleaned the steering rack,had some bother tracking down the rover recommended semi liquid grease spheerol, but got it and all lubed up it became the first part to be installed on the van ,also prepared the rear subframe area to receive the reconned sub frame (coming soon). biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif stripped down to clean and regrease the pot joints/c/v joints and wheel bearings and found the wheel bearing cups had suffered water ingress damage , got two new replacements from stony car spares , i am just waiting for the suspension cones to be delivered and then i can start to rebuild the front end, wot fun!!! biggrin.gif laugh.gif

hi all, had a break from the van for a while as been in hospital for an op, any way rebuilt the subframes with new cones/hi/lo's/copper brake pipes add braided flexi's then refitted to the van,now to start on the engine!user posted image
